Your day begins with a relaxed drive through the Canungra Valley, where you have time for a coffee or tea stop. Then it’s on up to the World Heritage-listed Lamington National Park, the largest contiguous subtropical rainforest area in the world.
At O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat, you will learn exciting stories about the history of the place, including the famous Stinson plane crash. On the treetop trail, you walk over 9 suspension bridges at a height of 16 meters and experience the rainforest from a bird’s eye view. Afterwards, a special experience awaits: the colorful King Parrots and Crimson Rosellas will eat right out of your hand – get your camera ready!
Continue to Kamarun Lookout, where spectacular 300° panoramic views from the Gold Coast to Brisbane await you. Finally, visit the idyllic Canungra Valley Vineyard. There you can feed the alpacas, watch the peacocks and enjoy a glass of local Picnic Bubbles.
For lunch, you can try a delicious meal (at your own expense) at either O’Reilly’s or the Vineyard before heading back to the Gold Coast.
