Experience FAQs

Australia has a relaxed attitude to clothing, but depending on the time of year you travel, you need to be prepared for extreme temperatures. In the south of Australia in winter (June to August) it can be 10-18 °C during the day and 0 °C at night. Warm jackets and a rain jacket are recommended for outdoor activities. In summer (November to April), daytime highs can reach 30-40 °C. Loose-fitting, light cotton clothing, a sun hat, sun cream and sunglasses are a must.

You sleep in a swag under the open sky

When camping, we use individual swags, which are Australian “bed rolls” made of robust canvas with an integrated mattress. Guests must bring their own sleeping bag and pillow. In the event of rain, a 3-person dome tent can be used as an alternative

For hygiene and organizational reasons, we do not offer sleeping bag hire. A sleeping bag costs around 30 AUD in Australia. If you camp a lot, you should invest in a high-quality sleeping bag. Sleeping bags that are no longer needed can be donated to charity by the guide at the end of the tour.

Yes, please inform us of any special diets or allergies at the time of booking. After departure we cannot guarantee that special requests will be met. Many meals take place in restaurants, so early information helps.

We recommend packing light as the vehicles have limited storage space. A maximum of 15 kg of luggage plus a daypack is permitted.

The requirements vary depending on the tour. Hikes can be 3-9 km a day, so a medium level of fitness is required. Persons over 70 years of age require a medical certificate.

The pick-up location varies depending on the tour and is indicated in the itinerary for day 1. After booking, you will receive a pre-departure information pack with all the details.
