Experience FAQs
Where do I check in and when do I leave?
Check-in from 7:00 am at the Passions desk in the Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal (end of Spence Street, Marlin Marina). The boat is only about 50 meters away at the Marlin Jetty. Departure: 8:00 am.
When will we return?
Return around 17:00. If possible, the return journey will be made under sail (without engine). The arrival time may therefore vary by approx. 10-15 minutes.
Do you offer transfers?
Yes, for a small surcharge. Transfers are available from Cairns City and the Northern Beaches. Unfortunately no transfers from Port Douglas (over 1 hour drive).
Can I dive if I have no experience?
Yes, if you are generally healthy, you can do a trial dive. All divers must complete a medical questionnaire on board. Certain illnesses such as asthma may exclude you from diving – if in doubt, please contact your doctor or the office beforehand.
Does the tour also take place in the rain?
In Cairns, it often only rains on the mountains. The reef is 40 km off the coast, where it is usually dry. So don’t worry if it rains in Cairns in the morning – the conditions on the reef are often much better.
What happens if I forget my diving license?
If possible, bring your logbook with you. If you don’t have a map or logbook, you can contact your certification body so that they can send you a confirmation. Alternatively, you can do a short pre-dive check with the instructor on board.
Are there vegetarian options?
Yes, there are five different salads and one of the two hot dishes is always vegetarian. Other requests are possible on request and with lead time.
