Itinerary

Exact itineraries vary depending on the tour type. 

After checking in at our office in Cairns, you will get to know your fellow travelers in the late afternoon. Shortly afterwards, you will be accompanied by the crew on board the Spoilsport. Over a glass of champagne and light snacks, you will receive a detailed briefing, assemble your equipment and at 6:30 pm it’s “Cast off!” – the expedition begins.

The first full day of diving offers you 4 dives and an exciting night dive. After a light breakfast, it’s straight into the water, followed by a hot breakfast on board. Further dives in the morning and afternoon allow you to explore the fascinating walls, caves and enormous biodiversity of Osprey Reef. The day ends with a night dive and dinner together.

Another packed diving day with up to 4 dives plus a night dive. Today, the shark attraction dives in particular are on the program – an absolute highlight of the expedition!

Your last day of diving will take you to the spectacular Bougainville Reef, where you will discover caves, corridors and huge hard coral terraces. After the last dive in the late afternoon, you celebrate with champagne, snacks and an atmospheric Australian BBQ party on board before the Spoilsport sets course for Lizard Island overnight.

After a relaxed breakfast, you disembark on Lizard Island. You will then fly low over the Great Barrier Reef back to Cairns – an unforgettable end to your diving adventure! Once you arrive in Cairns, we will take you to your hotel, the airport or you can store your luggage in our office free of charge until the evening.

Cancellation Policy

  • If you cancel between 60 and 30 days before the start date, the amount paid will be credited to the provider as a travel credit valid for 2 years.
  • Cancellations within 30 days of the start date will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Check-in for your expedition is at the Mike Ball Dive Expeditions office in Cairns (self-drive). On your return we will take you free of charge either back to our office, to a hotel within the city limits or directly to the airport.

Children are rare on board, but families with children aged 8 and over are welcome. Minimum age for diving: 12 years 10-12 years: participation for Junior Open Water certified divers possible by individual arrangement Parents or guardians are responsible for supervision at all times, children under 12 years must not be left unattended.

A public, central 24-hour parking lot is located on the corner of Lake Street and Wharf Street (not monitored).
