Itinerary

Exact itineraries vary depending on the tour type.

The half-day tour starts at Cape Tribulation Beach, where you board the Ocean Safari boat. The specially designed boat – a fast, 700 hp lifeboat-based inflatable boat – takes a maximum of 25 passengers, guaranteeing a personalized experience in a small group.

After a quick 25-minute boat ride, you will reach the first snorkeling spots on Mackay Reef. Here you have the opportunity to snorkel directly on the Great Barrier Reef while enjoying the view of the rainforest on the Daintree coast. With a bit of luck, you’ll swim side by side with sea turtles, see colorful coral reefs, tropical fish, eagle rays, giant clams and starfish.

Your experienced skipper and eco host will not only make sure you have fun, but also share fascinating insights into the two neighboring UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.

After the snorkeling experience, you return to Cape Tribulation Beach. Transfers from accommodation in Cape Tribulation are included.

Ocean Safari is Advanced Eco Accredited and is located right next to the Safari Lodge, where you will find accommodation (cabins & camping) as well as the Turtle Rock Café – perfect to end your day with a snack.
