Itinerary

Exact itineraries vary depending on the tour type.

Uluru & Kata Tjuta
Morning:
Uluru is the heart of Australia and stands for much of what this country is all about: its size, beauty and culture. Shortly after your arrival, the unmistakable monolith rises majestically from the earth. After a short drive, you can enjoy your lunch at Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). With their different shapes, the 36 domes form a fascinating contrast to Uluru.

Noon:
In the afternoon, explore the landscape on a hike between the rock formations.
In the evening, a light snack awaits you with a view of the sunset, which bathes Uluru in impressive shades of red.

Evening:
Back at camp, you and your group enjoy a delicious dinner – under the stars if the weather is good.

Uluru sunrise & culture
Morning:
The early start is rewarded: at sunrise, Uluru is transformed into a glowing symbol as the first rays illuminate the surrounding landscape. Your guide will take you to one of Uluru’s most important cultural sites, show you Anangu rock art and tell you one of the fascinating stories of creation.

Noon:
Afterwards, there is time for the complete base walk around Uluru – discovering valleys, rock formations and structures that remain invisible from a distance. After lunch, you can purchase handmade works of art by local Aborigines at the cultural center.

Evening:
Then it’s on to our exclusive campsite near Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon), where you’ll eat together and enjoy the stars.

Kings Canyon & optional evening activities
Morning:
The main attraction of Watarrka National Park is Kings Canyon – a gigantic gorge with rock walls up to 100 meters high, porous sandstone and hidden rock pools. It provides a habitat for over 600 native plant and animal species. On a guided hike, you will discover the most famous places: the Lost City, the Garden of Eden, the amphitheater and the north and south walls.

Noon:
After lunch, you drive back to Yulara in the afternoon.

Evening:
In the evening, you can choose from optional activities, such as a sunset camel ride, the Field of Lights, the Sounds of Silence Dinner Experience, the Wintjiri Wiru drone show – or the Uluru sunset from a new perspective (free of charge). The day ends with a relaxed dinner and a last night under the stars.

Farewell & return transfer

Morning:
After a short night’s sleep, a hearty breakfast awaits you at camp. You will then be transferred to Ayers Rock Airport (AYQ) or the Desert Gardens Hotel in Yulara. If your departure time allows, you can leave your luggage at the hotel and take a stroll around the resort. Regular free transfers are available from the hotel to the airport.

Where we’ll meet

For departures from Yulara (Ayers Rock): Flights arriving before 13:00: Meet your guide at Desert Gardens Hotel at 13:45 (Outback Lodge at 13:50).
