Is there a luggage limit?
Yes, please only bring a 15 kg soft bag and a daypack. Hard suitcases are not allowed.
Which meals are included and are special dietary requirements taken into account?
This tour includes 9 breakfasts, 10 lunches and 9 dinners. Guests with special dietary requirements or food allergies must inform us at the time of booking. As the food for the tour is purchased in advance, no special requests can be accommodated after departure. If you have not notified us in time, you may have to cover the cost of special food yourself. In general, the food is simple but plentiful and certain substitutes will be provided by the supplier. Please bring your own supplies if you need special foods.
What is the accommodation like on this tour?
Accommodation is in tents, so-called “participatory camping”, with seven of the nine nights camping with basic toilet and shower facilities. Nights 5 and 6 in Purnululu National Park only offer long-drop toilets, showers are not available here. Comfortable swags (canvas beds including 5 cm mattresses) are provided. You can either bring your own sleeping bag or buy one on site. Pillows are not provided. This is an authentic and adventurous way to experience the Kimberley – upgrades are not available.
What should I take with me?
Bring light clothing for the day and layers for the night, long pants and shirts for sun protection, sturdy, closed shoes, hat, sunscreen and sunglasses. A personal water bottle (at least 1.5 liters), flashlight or headlamp, camera with spare batteries, towels, a spare pair of shoes, sleeping bag or sleeping pad if necessary. Optionally, earplugs, a good book, music or binoculars can be useful. Avoid unnecessary valuables and make copies of important documents.
How fit should I be for this tour?
This tour is only suitable for fit, active travelers. You should be able to hike 3-9 km a day over rough terrain, sometimes walking through water or climbing. Temperatures can be extreme and some nights are spent in remote bush camps with limited facilities. Children are not permitted on this tour. The organizer reserves the right to check the physical fitness of participants before the start of the tour.
