This paradise is located on the sheltered south beach of Whitsunday Island, in the heart of the 74 beautiful Whitsunday Islands – just over an hour’s speedboat ride from Airlie Beach.

With Whitehaven Xpress you spend around 5 hours on the island – enough time to swim, walk barefoot on the fine sand, enjoy a delicious beach BBQ and simply experience the beauty of this world-class beach.

Itinerary

Exact itineraries vary depending on the tour type. 

After arriving at Whitehaven Beach, the day begins with a short, informative briefing. The team will then take you by dinghy directly to the famous, dazzling white silica sands of Whitehaven Beach.

The first hour is at your leisure. Use the time for a walk on the beach, a refreshing dip in the sea or take part in the guided hike to Whitehaven Beach Lookout – the perfect place for breathtaking photos. If you prefer to take it easy, you can also simply relax in the sun or meet the captain at the BBQ and look forward to some Australian humor.

Afterwards, the legendary Whitehaven Beach BBQ is served under the shady rainforest canopy of Whitsunday Island National Park. Freshly prepared, delicious food makes for a true Aussie experience. Of course, you can also take your lunch directly to the beach to enjoy with a view of the turquoise waters.

After the BBQ, you have more time to explore the island or relax on the beach. Then it’s on to the northern end of Whitehaven Beach. There you will visit the Hill Inlet Lookout and walk down to the famous swirling sands that make this natural wonder so unique.

This tour is suitable for all ages – from toddlers to families and seniors – and offers the perfect mix of relaxation, nature experience and typical Australian BBQ feeling.

Our focus is on giving you the longest time at Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet. We therefore do not offer snorkeling as part of the program, but you are welcome to bring your own mask to explore the marine life at Whitehaven Beach for yourself.
