Your tour starts early in the morning on the Sunshine Coast/Noosa. If possible, you will first travel along 40 Mile Beach past the famous Colored Sands and through the vastness of Wide Bay to Rainbow Beach.

From there, take the ferry across the Great Sandy Strait to the southern tip of the UNESCO World Heritage Site K’gari (Fraser Island). The journey then takes you along narrow 4WD sand tracks through heathland and towering hardwood forests to one of the island’s greatest highlights – Lake McKenzie (Boorangoora).

Here you have around 1.5-2 hours to swim in the crystal-clear water and relax on the gleaming white quartz sand beach. For lunch, a fresh “Aussie style” bush picnic awaits you with sandwiches (choice of ham, chicken, corned beef or vegetarian), tropical fruit and free ice-cold drinks such as beer, wine and soft drinks. Gluten-free, vegan and lactose-free options are available on request.

In the afternoon, you will explore the historic Central Station, a former forestry station that is now surrounded by impressive rainforest. On the Wanggoolba Creek Boardwalk, you will experience palms, ferns, cycads, lianas and mighty strangler figs in all their diversity.

On the way back, the route takes you through the pine forests of Toolara and the Cooloola Recreation Area. After an eventful day, you will be back in Rainbow Beach at around 3:30 pm and in Noosa at around 5:00 pm.
