Kangaroo Island is the third largest island in Australia and is not called “nature’s playground” for nothing. The island inspires with its unique wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, endless white sandy beaches and the warm hospitality of its inhabitants.

Itinerary

Exact itineraries vary depending on the tour type. 

Early: Departure at 6:45 am with the SeaLink bus from Adelaide CBD to the ferry terminal in Cape Jervis. Crossing to Penneshaw (45 min.), welcome by your guide.
Morning: Coastal drive to Pennington Bay and ascent of Prospect Hill with panoramic views. Visit to a honey farm with tasting.
Lunch: picnic lunch.
Afternoon: stop at the Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery and visit to Dudley Wines with magnificent sea views.
Evening: arrival at Camp “Happiness” on Antechamber Bay. Free time on the beach and dinner together.

Morning: Breakfast, followed by a guided tour of Seal Bay with observation of the sea lion colony.
Midday: Continue to Flinders Chase National Park, walk at Admirals Arch and visit Remarkable Rocks.
Afternoon: Discovery tour through the park with wildlife spotting.
Evening: Return to camp, free time and dinner.

Morning: Short bush walk near the camp. Drive to the north coast with bird watching and a shared meal.
Lunchtime: walk along the American River or visit Stokes Bay (Australia’s most beautiful beach in 2023). Free time for snorkelling or relaxing.
Afternoon: opportunity to participate in conservation projects (e.g. beach clean-up or seed collecting, depending on the season).
Evening: return journey to Penneshaw, ferry crossing at 17:30. Arrival in Adelaide approx. 21:00 hrs.

Where we’ll meet

The tour starts on day 1 in Adelaide between 6:15 am and 7:15 am and ends on day 3 in Adelaide between 8:00 pm and 10:30 pm. The exact times depend on the time of year and SeaLink's connecting ferries. On day 1, you will be picked up by either an Untamed Escapes bus or a SeaLink transfer bus in Adelaide and taken to the ferry terminal in Cape Jervis. You will receive this information two days before departure.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations within 3 days prior to departure or non-participation in the tour will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations made between 4 and 14 days prior to departure will receive a 50% travel credit valid for three years from the date of purchase.
  • For cancellations between 15 and 30 days, 100% of the amount can be credited as a travel credit valid for three years from the date of purchase.

Yes, please indicate your wishes directly when booking. We cater for most dietary requirements and provide fresh, varied meals. Snacks, soft drinks and alcohol are not included.

You can take a soft travel bag or a backpack (max. 15 kg) plus a small piece of hand luggage or a daypack.

We spend the night on a private property called Happiness at Antechamber Bay. There you’ll sleep in a traditional Aussie swag under the stars or in group tents if it rains. There is a camp kitchen, bathroom and lounge on site. The beach is just a 10-minute walk away.

A swag is a robust, Australian canvas bed roll-up with an integrated mattress. You sleep either directly under the open sky or – in bad weather – in a tent.

We prefer it if you bring your own sleeping bag and a small pillow. If this is not possible, you can rent a set for 20 AUD (please enquire directly with the organizer). We donate old sleeping bags to a homeless charity.

You should have a moderate level of fitness. On some days you will run 3-5 km on uneven terrain, sometimes in hot or wet conditions.
