The impressive Grampians National Park, known for its majestic mountain ranges, rugged peaks and thundering waterfalls, awaits you between Adelaide and Melbourne. On this 3-day tour, you will spend the night in the heart of the Grampians – surrounded by kangaroos and cockatoos.

We then continue south to the spectacular Shipwreck Coast, where you will discover the famous 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and other natural wonders. The crowning finale is the drive along the legendary Great Ocean Road to Melbourne, where we arrive in the early evening.

Itinerary

Exact itineraries vary depending on the tour type. 

Drive through the picturesque Adelaide Hills towards the Grampians National Park. On Victoria’s western plains, the impressive mountain range slowly rises on the horizon. Hike to the foot of the mighty MacKenzie Falls and enjoy the views from The Balconies and Boroka Lookout. Overnight in the heart of the Grampians – surrounded by nature and wildlife.

Start the day with a hike to the famous Pinnacle lookout with spectacular panoramic views over the Grampians. Then visit Tower Hill Conservation Reserve – an extinct volcano rich in Aboriginal history and wildlife. In the evening, you will have time to relax in Warrnambool and enjoy dinner together in a local restaurant (drinks not included).

Today you will experience the world-famous Great Ocean Road. Highlights include the 12 Apostles, the impressive Loch Ard Gorge and the London Bridge. Enjoy a guided rainforest walk in Great Otway National Park before stopping for lunch in Apollo Bay. Continue along the winding coastal road with stops at the Memorial Arch and famous surf beaches. Arrival in Melbourne in the evening.

  • Cancellations between 1 day and 7 days before the start date will incur a fee of 50%.

The tour is suitable for children aged 6 and over. Due to the nature of the tour, it is not suitable for infants or children under the age of 5. Children between the ages of 6 and 17 must stay in standard private accommodation and be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

A moderate fitness level is required as some hikes can be up to 3 km long and lead over steep, rocky terrain in direct sunlight. Participation in the hikes is at the discretion of the guide to ensure the safety of all guests. A medium to high fitness level is recommended. Guests over 70 years of age require a medical certificate, which must be presented at least 30 days before the start of the trip.

Yes, please inform us of any special dietary requirements or medical restrictions at the time of booking or at least a few days before departure so that we can make appropriate arrangements.

Meals are usually prepared by the tour guides and consist of simple camping meals. In some cases, they are also provided by the accommodation partners on site. Guests are asked to help with the preparation, washing up and loading and unloading of the vehicle – a good opportunity to get to know your fellow travelers better.

As there is only limited accommodation in the regions visited, groups may be split between different houses depending on the room category booked. In dormitories, guests share rooms with other travelers (same sex if possible, but not guaranteed). Private rooms are available if booked accordingly.

Yes, the entrance fees are included in the price. These include the Grampians National Park, the Great Otway National Park and the Port Campbell National Park.

One small, soft overnight piece of luggage and one piece of hand luggage are permitted, as the storage space on the coach is limited. Large suitcases or bulky luggage can be left at the hotel. Please note: The tour is not suitable for people with wheelchairs, walking aids or baby carriages.

The weather in these regions can be very changeable. The tours generally also take place in rain or bad weather, unless the organizer informs otherwise.
