Itinerary

Exact itineraries vary depending on the tour type.

The journey begins in Perth, from where we drive east across the Darling Ranges and enjoy a coffee in York, the oldest town in the interior of Western Australia. Lunch is served at the impressive Wave Rock before we set up camp in the Fitzgerald River National Park in the late afternoon. This botanically significant park is home to over 1,800 rare plant species and boasts a wild coastal landscape.

After a morning hike up East Mt. Baron, we drive along the coast to Esperance. Enjoy the beautiful beaches and relaxed atmosphere of the town before we continue to Cape Le Grand National Park. Here we set up camp for two nights, right on the beach at Lucky Bay, where you can swim, hike or enjoy the peace and quiet.

Early in the morning, we greet the friendly western gray kangaroos on the beach. We then hike up Frenchman Peak and enjoy the view over Cape Le Grand and the Recherche Archipelago. The rest of the day is free to explore the park: lush bushland, hidden bays and fascinating flora and fauna await us.

We leave Cape Le Grand and drive into the Nullarbor outback. On the way, we stop in Norseman and drive along Australia’s longest straight road, the 90 Mile Straight. At sunset we reach our bush camp under the breathtaking starry sky of the Nullarbor. Today we cover a long distance of 790 km.

The day continues over the Nullarbor, past typical outback scenes such as camels, kangaroos and wombats. We marvel at the spectacular Bunda Cliffs along the Great Australian Bight and cross the Dingo Fence. We finally reach Fowlers Bay in the afternoon.

After breakfast, we explore the coast and visit the Penong Windmill Museum before stocking up on supplies in Streaky Bay and testing our sandboarding skills. We arrive at Coodlie Park Farm Retreat in the late afternoon, enjoy a barbecue and set up our tent.

An unforgettable wildlife experience awaits us today: we take a boat to Jones Island in Baird Bay, home to wild Australian sea lions that curiously circle us. Optionally, wild bottlenose dolphins accompany us. Those staying ashore can visit Point Labatt Conservation Park to observe the seal colony. We then continue along the coast to Elliston and Camp Nyroca.

After breakfast, we drive to Coffin Bay for a guided 1.5-hour tour of Yarnbala to learn more about the native flora, fauna and traditional water divination. In the afternoon we arrive in Port Lincoln and visit the Mikkira Station Koala Sanctuary, home to the only wild koala population on the Eyre Peninsula as well as numerous kangaroos and emus.

In the morning, we take part in a two-hour surf lesson in the tranquil Fisheries Bay or relax on the beach. In the afternoon, we support the National Trust of South Australia in protecting nature in Brinkworth Reserve. In the evening we relax at camp and enjoy dinner together.

After breakfast, we drive to Spencer Gulf, marvel at regional silo art in Tumby Bay and Cowell and reach Lucky Bay for the ferry to Wallaroo. After the two-and-a-half-hour crossing, we continue the final leg to Adelaide, where we arrive at around 18:00.
