This 450-mile expedition combines the Fly Dive Coral Sea and the Fly Dive Cod Hole and offers you the best of two fascinating ecosystems – in just one week and with 26 unforgettable dives.

Itinerary

Exact itineraries vary depending on the tour type. 

After check-in in Cairns, you board the Spoilsport, get to know the crew and fellow travelers and toast with champagne. After a short briefing, the ship leaves the harbor – the perfect opportunity to prepare your equipment and get in the mood for the upcoming dives.

These days are all about diving. Several dives during the day will take you to the best spots on the Ribbon Reefs, including the famous Cod Hole. In the afternoon, there is time to relax on deck before the night dive begins and the day ends with dinner together.

After a few more dives, the Spoilsport moors off Lizard Island. In the evening, you can enjoy champagne at sunset, delicious snacks and an Australian BBQ party under the stars.

Today the guests of the 4-day expedition say goodbye. You have time to explore Lizard Island – from a walk on the beach to a climb to the viewpoint – before new guests come on board and the next dives begin.

Two full days of spectacular dives await you: impressive coral walls, encounters with sharks and big fish and unparalleled visibility. On the last evening, there is a big farewell party on board as the ship sails back to Cairns overnight.

After a final breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye. You disembark in Cairns and are taken to your hotel or airport – with unforgettable memories of a week full of adventure.

  • If you cancel between 60 and 30 days before the start date, the amount paid will be credited to the provider as a travel credit valid for 2 years.
  • Cancellations within 30 days of the start date will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Check-in for your expedition is at the Mike Ball Dive Expeditions office in Cairns (self-drive). On your return we will take you free of charge either back to our office, to a hotel within the city limits or directly to the airport.

Children are rare on board, but families with children aged 8 and over are welcome. Minimum age for diving: 12 years 10-12 years: Participation for Junior Open Water certified divers possible by individual arrangement Parents or guardians are responsible for supervision at all times, children under 12 years must not be left unattended.

A public, central 24-hour parking lot is located on the corner of Lake Street and Wharf Street (not monitored).
