Itinerary

Exact itineraries vary depending on the tour type.

Morning tea in Country Victoria
In the morning, you leave the city and travel 250 km west through rural Victoria, which is rich in gold mining history. On the way, you stop off in a charming small town to learn more about mining and fortify yourself with a coffee or tea.

Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Center
Once you arrive in the picturesque Grampians National Park, visit the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Center. Here you can discover the creation stories of the region and learn more about the cultural significance of Gariwerd for the Aboriginal people. You will also have the opportunity to observe wallabies, emus and perhaps even echidnas in the wild.

Reeds Lookout & The Balconies
From Reeds Lookout you can enjoy sweeping views of Lake Wartook, the Victoria Valley and the Mount Difficult Range. You then hike through shady eucalypt forests and past fascinating rock formations to The Balconies, where you can admire the famous Jaws of Death.

Hike to the foot of the Mackenzie Falls
In the afternoon, head to the Mackenzie Falls, probably the most famous waterfall in the Victoria Valley. You hike down around 250 steps to the foot of the falls and back again – or choose the easier, flat route via the viewing platform at the top of the falls. If the waterfall is closed, a relaxed hike to Silverband Falls is undertaken instead.

Boroka Lookout
A photo stop at the spectacular Boroka Lookout offers more breathtaking panoramas. If visibility and weather conditions are suitable, you can alternatively head to Lake Bellfield, where you can walk across the dam to experience the imposing mountain ranges up close.

Kangaroo and wildlife watching
In the late afternoon, immerse yourself in the wildlife of the Grampians. In Halls Gap, you can observe many kangaroos grazing in the meadows. Emus, kookaburras, wallabies and echidnas can also often be spotted. Remember to charge your camera – there is no feeding here!

Return journey to Melbourne
In the evening, we return to Melbourne. On the approximately 3-hour drive, there will be a stopover to buy dinner (at your own expense). You will reach Melbourne at around 8:30 pm and will be taken back to your original pick-up point or the public transport connections.
