Itinerary

Exact itineraries vary depending on the tour type.

Your full-day tour to the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation starts with a pick-up from your friendly, accredited guide directly at your accommodation in Cairns. You’ll drive north along the scenic Captain Cook Highway, enjoying spectacular views of the coast and learning fascinating stories about the region.

The first stop is at the Daintree River, where a light morning tea awaits you before you join a guided river cruise. Look out for crocodiles, mangroves and native bird species – you’ll experience pure nature here.

Then it’s up to the Alexandra Range, where an impressive panoramic view of the rainforest and the Coral Sea opens up (temporarily unavailable). Afterwards, you will experience the rainforest up close on a guided promenade walk through the national park. Your guide will explain the flora and fauna and, with a bit of luck, you might spot the rare southern cassowary.

At lunchtime, you will enjoy a delicious lunch in a local café in the rainforest. Afterwards, you have the opportunity for a refreshing swim in a clear rainforest stream, far away from the crowds.

Continue to the famous Cape Tribulation Beach, where you can stroll along the beach and admire the place where rainforest meets reef from the photo platform. On the way back, stop at the Daintree Ice-Cream Company and try some homemade tropical ice cream – a highlight of the day.

Finally, you cross the Daintree River again by ferry and are taken back to your accommodation in comfort.
