Join the Humpback Whale Swim Boat and experience humpback whales up close! Enjoy a snorkeling trip on the breathtaking Ningaloo Reef and watch the whales directly from the boat – closer than on any other whale watching tour. If there are still places available for swimming on the day of the tour, you can book an upgrade directly on site.

  • Non-swimming guests watch the whales from the boat, which maneuvers up to 75 meters away

  • Swimmers can approach the whale up to 30 meters and hear its songs
  • The whales are curious and are allowed to approach us up to 15 meters, which makes for a unique encounter.
  • Pilot of the observation aircraft communicates directly with the guide for optimal interaction

Itinerary

Exact itineraries vary depending on the tour type. 

Departure by boat, short safety and swimming test for participants who wish to enter the water. On the way, look out for humpback whales or whale sharks. Small groups, spotter plane and experienced crew ensure optimal sightings.

Swimmers (max. 7) glide into the water under the guidance of the guide and approach relaxed whales or whale sharks. Non-swimming guests observe the animals from the boat (up to 75 m away). Strict safety and distance regulations are observed. Live communication between spotter plane and guide in the water for the best possible encounter.

Return to the harbor, photos & video recordings of the day will be provided the next morning on an 8GB USB souvenir.

Answer: Please bring swimwear, a hat, sunglasses and a towel. Everything else such as a mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuit will be provided on board.

Yes, photos and videos of your experience will be available for collection the morning after the tour. You can save the digital copies on your own USB or purchase a special Whaleshark USB stick as a souvenir.

If you have little experience on boats, it may be useful to take a motion sickness tablet before the tour. This must be purchased in advance from a pharmacy.
